That's when they start scrambling, throwing everything they can at the project to make sure the film breaks even. Frequently on the menu? Car chases. Because, as Dodge demonstrates in its new tie-in trailer for Fast Five, car chases make movies better.
Dodge has inked a major partnership with Universal Pictures for Fast Five, supplying 2010 and 2011 Dodge Chargers for the upcoming film. Dodge also launched a special Fast Five-themed website, which includes a sweepstakes giving visitors a shot at winning one of five Fast Five 2011 Dodge Charger R/T models. (FYI, the sweepstakes was meant to launch yesterday, but as of now, it's still "coming soon").
Given its smaller prospective audience and pre-summer release, Fast Five probably won't do as much for Chrysler as, say, the Transformers movies have done for Chevrolet, but it should at least match the return that Chrysler earned from sponsoring the less-than-stellar Terminator Salvation.

Dodge has revealed a special edition of Charger, just before the car’s official debut at the New York Auto Show. Dodge Charger Mopar Edition will be limited to just 1000 units and the price starts at $39 750.
Dodge Charger Mopar Edition is powered by a 5.7 liter HEMI V8 with 375PS (276 kW) and 535Nm (395 lb-ft). The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic gearbox and the acceleration is pretty good – 0 to 60 mph in around 5 seconds.
Charger Mopar Edition has black exterior finish with an aggressive blue stripes over the hood and roof. The unique appearance is completed by a set of enormous 20” alloy wheels in dimensions 8J x 20” fitted with 245/45 ZR20 Goodyear F1 Supercar tires.
The interior boasts Katzkin leather seats, metallic trim and a strange shifter. There are also alloy pedals, Mopar floor mats and an individually-numbered plaque.
The suspension is also revised. It features bigger stabilizer bars (30 mm at the front and 20mm at the rear) and strut tower braces.
Last, but not least, Mopar installed a high performance braking system with enormous calipers and discs behind the 20” wheels.
Customers who purchase a Mopar ‘11 Charger will receive a personalized owner kit in a customized Mopar ‘11 box. ORGANISERS of one of the country’s most iconic rallies, the Norwich Union MSA Classic, have been amazed to find almost 40% of their 900 entries made up by 1970s and 1980s models such as the Triumph Stag, Ford Cortina and Audi Quattro.

Event organisers have put this down to the “Life on Mars” factor - our collective love of 70s and 80s nostalgia and the success of the hit BBC show where the main character finds himself stuck in 1973. HANOVER–Japanese truckmaker Isuzu Motors Ltd. will struggle to hit its full-year net profit target and has ruled out buying General Motors' mid-sized trucks business, President Susumu Hosoi told Reuters.

"It will be difficult to achieve the net profit target but we will do everything possible to achieve it," Hosoi said in an interview on Wednesday at the IAA truck fair in Germany. He cited an expected downturn in all major truck markets.

Isuzu has said it aims to make a net profit of 85 billion yen ($801.8 million) in its current business year that runs until March 31.

Asked about a newspaper report last Friday that Isuzu could buy GM's mid-size trucks operations, Hosoi said: "There will be no such acquisition happening."

The two companies might be able to cooperate in this field, but there had been no talks about this, he said.

Shares in Isuzu, which is a former GM affiliate, rose 11 percent on the report, even though it said it had received no such offer from GM.

Isuzu's shares ended Wednesday trade in Tokyo down 1.2 percent at 322 yen, before the release of this interview.

Hosoi also dismissed reports that Isuzu might increase its 40 percent holding in DMAX Ltd, a U.S. diesel-engine joint venture in which GM holds the rest.

"We have no plan to raise our stake in DMAX," he said.

He also said Isuzu was still studying the idea of building a plant in Saudi Arabia but had not yet made a decision.

This is also the quietest engine of the range and keeps its opinions to itself when cruising along the motorway, with wind and road noise also well contained. It's a shame the five-speed manual gearbox has a slightly clunky change as it undermines what is otherwise an excellent transmission.

Kia has firmed up the suspension of the pro_cee'd compared to its five-door sister model. It gives the car a shade more grip and balance through corners, keeping lean to a minimum and feeling fun and keen to drive. The downside is that the low-speed ride is hard around town, though it becomes more supple at higher speeds. What doesn't improve at any speed is the vague sensation to the steering, particularly just as it moves off centre. This can be disconcerting on the motorway, where the steering wheel feels completely unconnected to the front wheels.

What's impressive?

The pro_cee'd is a brilliant buying package for those paying with their own cash, as most customers will, and also makes sense for cost-conscious company drivers. An agreeably affordable list price is backed up by low running costs thanks to the fine economy and 126g/km carbon dioxide emissions that keep road tax bills down. There's also a good level of standard equipment that includes climate and cruise controls, alloy wheels, CD stereo, electric windows and half leather seat upholstery. It's a shame Kia doesn't include standard ESP traction control, but there are six airbags as part of the package. Throw in Kia's superb seven-year warranty cover and the pro_cee'd is a very cost-effective choice.

What's not?

While the pro_cee'd provides excellent space for its passengers and a decent boot, the styling of its three-door shape severely limits the driver's vision through the rear view mirror and over the shoulder. This latter element is especially noticeable when trying to park or moving back in from the outside lane of a motorway. It's not dangerous, but the driver does need to do a double take to be certain there are no other cars lurking in this blind spot.

Should I buy one?

There's no doubt the pro_cee'd is a great buy. It's packed with equipment, offers plenty of space in a cabin that's well put together, and has excellent economy and low running costs. It's also nifty to drive thanks to the 113bhp 1.6-litre turbodiesel, though the ride at low speeds is a touch too firm and the steering needs a bit of attention from Kia's engineers. Overall, the pro_cee'd is a sound bet, looks great and comes with a class leading warranty that goes some way to cancelling out used values, which won't be quite as strong as its mainstream opposition. In Houston, you just basically go along with the traffic regardless of what's the speed limits are unless the police are around. The avg speed to drive around in Houston is 30mph in neighborhoods, 40mph on normal roads, 60mph on the feeder, and 70-100mph on the freeway (Yes, my own Mother drive this speed)... Unless there's a police nearby it's 25mph in neighborhoods, 30-35 mph on normal roads, 50mph on the feeder, and 60mph on the freeway. Note these are not during rush hour!

The morning rush hour is from 7:00AM to 10:00AM. The evening rush hour is from 4:00PM to 7:00PM. Friday's rush hour starts Thursday morning.
